Horizon2020 ICT/FET National Contact Points Training

A training for ICT and FET National Contact Points (NCPs) took place on October 23-24, in Brussels. The training focused on new initiatives and opportunities of the EU Framework Programme for Research and Innovation – HORIZON 2020.

Morten Møller, Head of Unit F.3 'Programme Coordination', DG CONNECT, European Commission and Alessandro Barbagli, Directorate-General for Communications Networks, Content and Technology, Programme Coordination unit, made the official opening and were the moderators of the training.

NCPs from over 30 countries, like Denmark, Estonia, Spain, UK, Ireland, Canada, Belarus, Poland, ect. attended the training. The Republic of Moldova was represented by ICT NCP – Elena Zamsa, deputy director of Centre for Fundamental and Applied Research Funding and FET NCP – Svetlana Mihalachi, researcher at the Information Society Development Institute.

The presentations during the training were focused on the following topics:
• Components and Systems
• Future Internet
• Content Technologies and Information Management
• Cross Cutting actions and International Collaboration
• Horizontal ICT Innovation Actions
• H2020 Rules for participation
• Open Access
• Overview of ICT in Excellence e-Infrastructure
• Overview of ICT in Societal Challenges
• Excellence-Future and Emerging Technologies

During the presentations and poster sessions the NCPs exchanged questions and discussed in groups.

All the information presented during the training was draft, therefore the importance of disseminating it as draft was underlined. More detalied and final information will be presented at the ICT 2013 event, that will take place on November 6-8, in Vilnius, Lithuania.
