ACADEMICA
ACADEMICA network was established based on Decision nr. 86 of the Supreme Council for Science and Technological Development of the Academy of Sciences of Moldova dated 27 May 2010. It is developed and operated by ISDI, based on services delivered to ASM organisations as well as several research and technology transfer projects:
- Deployment of information resources and development of network technologies for the support of scientific research (2008-2010), ISDI
- Decision support system for selection, funding and management of publicly funded R&D projects (2011-2012), ISDI
- Implementation of the information system for educational process management at the University of the Academy of Sciences of Moldova (2009), ISDI
- Development of network segments based on implementation of the 1Gbps technology (2008-2009), Institute of Mathematics and Computer Science
Since 2010 all 19 R&D organisations, members of the ASM, Supreme Council for Science and Technologial Development of ASM, Innovation and Technology Transfer Agency, Central Scientific Library „A. Lupan”, Center of International Projects, Lyceum and University of ASM and Information Society Development Institute are interconnected via ACADEMICA metropolitan network.
As a result of information systems development the visibility of the R&D activities in the Republic of Moldova increased from 235.285 visits in 2008to 243.323 in 2009, 561.100 visits in 2010 and 565.054 in 2011, the number of unique visitors in 2008 being 83.566, 172.739 in 2009, 243.323 in 2010, and in 2011 - 182.657 unique visitors. The external traffic of the ACADEMICA network in 2010 exceeded 28 TB, and in 2011 - 56 TB.
Since 2012 all R&D organisation, members of ASM have been included in International Webometrics Ranking.
