EXTEND - third round of training workshops for ICT researchers

FP7 project EXTEND will organise the third round of training workshops for ICT researchers on March 31, 2011. The goal of the event is to prepare ICT actors for participation in the 8th Call for proposals to be launched by the EU Framework Program 7.

Training workshop will focus on opportunities, procedures, thematic priorities of FP7 ICT Work Programme, which were identified during the consultation workshop and will be open within eighth FP7 Call on July 26, 2011:

1.2 Cloud Computing, Internet of Services and Advanced Software Engineering
1.4 Trustworthy ICT
1.6 Future Internet Research and Experimentation (FIRE)

3. Alternative Paths to Components and Systems
3.1 Very advanced nanoelectornic components: design, engineering, tehcnology and manufacturability
3.2 Smart components and smart systems integration
3.5 Core and disruptive photonic technologies

4. Technologies for Digital Content and Languages
4.4 Intelligent Information Management

6. ICT for a Low Carbon Economy
6.1 Smart energy grids
6.2 ICT for efficient water resources management
6.7 Cooperative systems for energy efficient and sustainable mobility

8. ICT for Learning and Access to Cultural Resources
8.1 Technology-Enhanced Learning

9. Future and Emerging technologies
9.6 FET Proactive: Unconventional Computation (UCOMP)
9.7 FET Proactive: Dynamics of Multi-Level Complex Systems
9.8 FET Proactive: Minimising Energy Consumption of Computing to the Limit (MINECC)
9.12 Coordinating Communities, Identifying new research topics for FET Proactive initiatives and Fostering Networking of National and Regional Research Programmes
9.14 Science of Global Systems

11. Horizontal Actions
11.1 Pre-Commercial Procurement Actions

Training workshop will focus on:
• Financing Opportunities
• Status and development of priority areas in specific areas of ICT
• Developing project proposals using participants own ideas
• Discussion and evaluation of project proposals
• Creating successful consortia

Working language - English.

The seminar will be held at Hotel Codru, the Coral Hall (127, 31 August 1989 str, Chisinau, Moldova)

The participants who submit the best proposals will receive funding to participate at ICT Proposers' Day 2011, taking place at Budapest, Hungary on May 19-20, 2011 and/or the Conference “THE WAY FORWARD FOR THE INFORMATION SOCIETY in the Eastern Europe and South Caucasus countries: Priorities and Challenges” taking place in Tbilisi (Georgia) on June 16-17, 2011.
