The Ministry of Information Technologies and Communication of the Republic of Moldova announced that the “.md” domain is going down in price. Beginning April 1, 2010, the domain price will be reduced by 20% - up to US $39. As before, the Moldovan citizens will be able to pay in leis at the exchange rate of the National Bank of Moldova, established on the day of registration or re-registration of the domain.
“This initiative perfectly fits the actions, undertaken by the ministry, on providing access to the Internet and to all its possibilities, as well as the plan on promotion of local information resources at the international level”, said Mr. Alexandru Oleinic, Minister of Information Technologies and Communication.
The first stage of drop in prices for Moldovan domains began on March 1, 2010, when they were reduced by 50% for domains that included possessor’s name and surname. Since April 1, 2010, prices will be reduced again by 20%.
